Motor loses power occasionally

I've got a weird issue. I recently had a problem where my boat motor just didn't have much power at all, so I took it to the mechanic that said the throttle linkage was sticking and that the bottom carb float was also sticking, so he took care of both and it ran great.

After taking it out a few times, we were coming back to the dock and after making a hard turn the motor lost power again. Pushing the throttle all the way down would only move us less than 10 mph and wouldn't rev very high in neutral. We got home, put the muffs on and it revved up fine, so we took it out again the next day and all ran great.

We took it out last week and it ran perfect all day, but on our way back in we cut a hard turn and it sputtered a little, but stayed running. We cut the engine and fished for a few minutes. When we tried to start it again it didn't want to idle and kept dying at first, but then started and ran fine. We stopped for another 10 minutes and decided to call it a day. On our way back to the dock we were cruising and the engine would sputter every now and then and then eventually lost power to the point where we could only move about 10mph again and crawled to the ramp. I took it home and ran it on the muffs and it ran fine again.

It's a strange issue and the only common denominator is that in both cases we made a hard turn and then the issues began. I've checked that the fuel is getting to the carbs fine and that there are no kinks in the line. Does anyone have any clue why we'd have this weird issue? Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to give a thorough run-down of what's happening.

I'm running a 1983 Johnson 50hp. Carbs have been cleaned recently, fuel pump is new and fuel line is free and clear. My suspicion is one of the carb floats sticking again.

It sounds like you still have some crap floating around in one of carb float bowls blocking off the high speed jet at times.
