Motor mount on outboard

I have a merc 150 outboard on a center counsole. When I am on power the steering piston is pulled back against the inside of the transom. When I am at idle the piston sits about 3/4 of an inch away form the transom. Looking at my transom it does not seem to be flexing or weak so I was thinking it could be the piston shaft that connects the motor to the mount. Also, my trim actuator system has a leak in it and the motor will slowly fall back when trimmed up. Could this cause the problem at all? Is there an easy way to see of the bushings are bad or is there a way to see if the transom is flexing. The only time the motor pulls back in on power. Any sugestions would be helpful.

Re: Motor mount on outboard

air in the t&t system can cause this on some systems...try topping off the t&t fluid, then try bleeding both cylinders, then top of the fluid again

By the way, internal t&t cylinder leaks and internal leaks in pump& valves can also cause the same problems.
