hey guys, ive got a little 1994 2 hp johnson (great lil engine) im trying to rig up a push rod between it and my 40 hp main engine so its controlled by the steering wheel....not much luck so far, i took out the bottom mount bolt holding the rear exxhaust housing to the motor, and replaced it with a nut welded to a bolt and another bolt with a nut welded to it under the back of the 40 ph (to put the rod thru) anyways, didn't really work too good as the turn radius was smaller for the small engine, but while playing around with it, i busted the bolt hole on the small engine.
whats the best way to fix this? pretty sure its crappy white metal, but not 100%, i wouldn't have thought aluminum would have busted that easy....its not super critical to the motors operation, but i like to keep things that work great, looking great too...
any suggestions on how to rig up a push rod is more than welcome also
thanks guys
