I have a 1993 Sunbird Corsair 185 with OMC 3.0 Cobra. I've noticed where the front motor mount bracket bolts to the boat there is a crack around the bracket in the fiberglass. It does not look like it is all the way through, but there is some flex in the fiberglass on the side where the crack is. I would like some suggestions for repair. I'm thinking of drilling a hole and filling with something to possibly make everything more sturdy. Thoughts and suggestions please.

Thanks in advance

Re: Motor mount

You will really need to make sure the wood under the fiberglass isn't rotton. Unfortunatly it probably is. If so you will need to replace the wood, replace the fiberglass and align the engine. Just patching it if it is rotton will not last. The motor must be mounted properly or coupler failure will occur. You will probably need to pull the engine to do it right. Sorry, I know thats not the answer you were looking for. DH

hello
yep what he said:(.
its common. happens a lot. if you tackle it yourself take a measurement from a fixed object to the top of the mount pad so as to get the height of the pad close when ya glass another one in.
good luck and keep posting
