Motor Mounting Pin Adjustment

I was wondering if there is an optimal position to lock the motor with the pin that changes the angle when trim is down. Mine was set to the top hole (leg closest to the transom when lowered) when i bought it. By moving this pin to one of the other 5 holes, what will that do to my performance? It will raise the move the leg away from the body when full tilt, but what will that do to performance? Thanks in advance and for all previous assistance already!

Normally the 2nd hole from the transom is the standard. If the boat runs nose down, moving the tilt pin up a hole can lift the bow a bit for better speed. When she ventiilates, you have it too high.
