Hello,
Just found this site today while searching for answers to why my 92 Yamaha C85R is not peeing water out the pilot hole. The motor is on a 22' pontoon. I ran it twice last weekend with no problems, but noticed on the second day that water is not coming out of the pilot hole. I felt the cowling and it didn't seem warm. I've read in the manual that there should be an engine overheat system that will go off to alert me and will automatically govern the engine to protect it. It hasn't gone off, so I can assume that the engine hasn't overheated, yet. How can I check this out and make sure I don't have a problem... without having a tech come to where it is in the water and charge me whether there is a problem or not?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Motor Not "peeing"

hello, take a paper clip and run it up the pee hole, see if that works, if not lift off your engine cowl and pull the pee hose lose and blow into it.You should be able to clear it. If that does not work use air pressure with a portable air tank . I found out you really need to keep the lower unit flushed out well.If that does not solve the problem you may need a impeller/water pump change.
