My motorguide foot control trolling motor is too small for my boat. Is it possible to replace this motor with one from a tiller handle motorguide with the same diamter shaft. If so, need instructions?

you are better off selling yours and buying what you need.

Re: motor replacement on motorguide

have been considering a lower unit replacement, what I have learned is, the lower unit is screwed on with red loctite 262 (requires heat to release) and torqued to 30 - 40 ft lbs.

won't work if one is "variable speed" and the other is "adjustable speed"

something you might have to work around is, if the two motors don't have the same # of forward speeds. also, the hand control probably has a reverse setting or two that won't be used with your foot control. wires might not match up one for one.

under 50 lbs/thrust motors use the "01" mount, over 50 use a different mount - the mounts appear to be the same size....not sure if maybe the one isn't beefy enough for the higher power.

I'd be real interested to hear if you manage the conversion successfully.
