motor runnin, prop not???

i have a mercruiser 140hp attached to a mercruiser outdrive. just got all the trim figured out and fired up the engine but my prop is barely rotating. any suggestions as to what i should be looking for to fix it??

Speaking generically; check that the shift mechanism is operating.check the cable hookup.
There is a coupling between the motor and the drive. There is slim chance it has failed.
It won't test shift right unless the motor is running or you rotate the prop to help it mesh.
