2001 150 merc carbed

Boat has always ran 145-150 degrees on plane and 180 or so off plane. Even when new.
Changed the upper pump housing and impeller, which I have done many times, and now the motor is showing around 120-130 idling and barely 140 when running? When on the muffs, it heats to 140, I assume then the thermos kick in and in drops a little and pees a little stronger.

This has never happened before when I changed these items. Only difference this time is that when removing the lower unit, the water tube came loose and stuck in the water pump where as usually the tube pops out of the pump and stays connected to the motor. So I had to reinsert that kind of blindly but I am assuming there is only 1 place for it to go.....

Checked thermostats and they function fine. Motor is peeing normally.

What else is there that could cause this? Should I be concerned?

Has anyone pulled out the little rubber restrictors inside the water passages of the heads?

I assume that its fine that your merc runs cool. I would think that it would prolong its life. If you are having no problems, it aint broke. And ya know what they say..... Aint broke no fixy.
I am assuming this temp is after awhile of running which i think you implied.
Scuba rob
