motor shuts down at idle.

I have a Alpha 1 Mecrusier S/N # 1A009278. My motor will not stay on when it is at idle. Im not sure how to adjust the idle and i believe it is a 2 barrel carb. I had a friend of mine replace the gaskets and cleaned out the crab but it is still having the same issues.

You have a TKS carb
How does the motor run otherwise at higher rpms?
When did this start, and is it a new to you boat or have had a while?
Has the fuel filter been replaced, and had the contents checked for anything other then clean gas?

Your symptoms could be caused by several issues. One could be plugged or dirty idle jets in the carb. I had the same problem and my mechanic took off the top of the carb and cleaned the idle jets .Solved the idling problem.
