Hey guys,
new boater here very green and need a little help.
have a 99 bayliner ciera 2655 with a 2004 Merc 5.7 TKS
I start it up and idles fine at about 650-700 RPM’s
Runs at about 160 degrees
Take the boat out and it seems to be running very well for a while but after a bit the RPMs just go down and it stalls out.
Try to restart normally but when I upshift to drive it will die out again.
On the fly I remove the throttle cable and give it a few good revs after my buddy starts it and this seems to be enough to get me back to the slip.
Recently rebuild the carb and adjusted the float to SELOC specs as this was happening before I rebuilt the carb. Trust me it needed a good cleaning and rebuild.
Anyone have any ideas on what I am experiencing and a resolve?
TY
