first off i have a 1993 merc 115, I was out friday and after a full day of crabbing, it is a 30 min run out to the crabbing spot and 4 hours of putting checking lines and then a 30 min run back to the dock. All of a sudden we come down off of wot and the motor cuts out. tried restarting it for about 20 min by re priming with the bulb we were finally able to get back in by keeping constant pressure on the priming bulb. Luckly we died about 1000 yards from the dock but the wind was very bad with 1 1/2' chop. any ideas? My guess is fuel pump but I saw a small inline filter up in the motor. please any help would be great

Re: motor starving for fuel?

Check the fuel pumps, and the fuel filter, pretty sure it the pumps, but if the filter is clogged up, you would have the same symptoms. IF the filter IS clogged, then you should examine the fuel system, and clean it.
