Hello all I have a 1987 thompson daytona 25 that has twin 185 mercs just getting ready
to go in the water. my port engine is having a little problem. I turn the key and hear click, so I turned the motor and I hit the key and it starts to turn and stop. Turn the
motor again and I hear a click come from the starter. and the motor turns and stops
any idear's Thanks all

Pull the spark plugs and see if there is water in the cylinders.

Thanks I will look on monday, If I have water in my cylinders, new head gasket? motor rebuild? If no water then what? little mystery oil in the cylinders?

perhaps, but not just that

could be faulty exhaust manifold(s), riser(s), or gasket(s), cracked head, head gasket - you will need to do some troubleshooting to know for sure

If no water then what? little mystery oil in the cylinders?

you first need to troubleshoot the starting system from battery to starter including ground leads, then you can start looking at engine mechanical issues
