I have an 84 glastron wiht 84 90 horse merc, inline 6. I may purchase a 1999 glastron hull. Will the steering mechanism and motor mount to the 99 hull? Im just not sure how much the steering changes. Minor mods are ok, but major reworking isnt great. Help me asap, auction is almost over. Thanks guys<br />Matt

Re: Motor Swap

I would think that if the lenth is the same that you will be fine. Other than that, you may be buying new cables and extending the wireing.<br /><br />Think about this though.<br /><br />"NOTHING ON A BOAT IS EVER AS EASY AS YOU THINK IT IS GOING TO BE"!

Re: Motor Swap

You might want to find out what was on there. They were frequently fitted with Johnnyrudes, but that's not carved in granite. If so, you might have problems with wiring and controls because they won't match. Some gauges are also incompatible. Those things can be changed, but it'd be an unexpected expense that might make a good deal not so good. Steering shouldn't be a problem. Not sure about the mounting holes. If your motor has twin trim rams on the sides of the bracket, then you'll be filling and redrilling.
