i have a bass tracker with a 1988 25 hp mercury. i want to swap over to a 1998 40 mariner. the first obvious problem i see is that the 25 merc is clamped at the top and bolted down low. the 40 mariner has a totally different bolt pattern. does anyone make a adapter plate of sort to keep me from having to drill more holes in the transom ?
