I have a 1979 80hp Merc on my boat now and was lookin at a 88 90hp merc my question is would my cables be the same so all i have to do is swap motors or will I need different cables?
Throttle and shift cables will work as will MerControl. Electrical cables will likely be very different, but can be grafted. If you can get a wiring harness for the new motor, you can solder it to the old MerControl.
