motor turns hard

i have a 1978 evinrude 55hp<br />some times it turns good <br />if you turn it over 3 or 4 times it just takes everything out of the battrie and i is a 650 cold cr amp deepcell battrie when it turns over it startes up with no problems

Three or four attempts should not drain a properly charged car battery. In good condition. It might overheat the starter windings causing the starter to fail. If that's the case start looking for a starter. But in your case it's the battery type.<br /><br />A deep cycle battery will not carry enough of a high demand charge like needed for cranking. Try a regular "new" car battery.
