Hey guy's I have a 1998 force 120 outboard. While on the water today I started experiancing a vibration with the motor. I raised the motor to check the props and except for a little bit of seweed, it seemed fine. I lowered it back in the water and same vibration. The more rpm's the more vibration. I have a four blade composite prop and one of the blades has a small chip off one end of it. Could this be the cause of my vibration? I removed the prop and checked the shaft everything spins and moves freely? I don't want to just change this blade put it back in the water and experiance the same problem. Is there something else I should look for?

Re: Motor Vibration

Mike, I would take the prop totally apart and reseat all of the blades changing the bad one and try it again. But I would see if if You could borrow another prop to use as a baseline for the prop you have now. Run the borrowed prop first. But if you feel the vibration, don't push the motor hard, just in case it is the lower unit and not the prop.
