I have a leak in the motor well. My boat is aluminum and I?m not sure how to properly seal this. It is a slow leak where the transom meets the aluminum sheet metal in the motor well. I figured I could probably put a bead of 5200 silicon on the seam but I wasn?t sure if that was the best permanent fix. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Motor Well Leak

5200 is permanent, which may be a reason not to use it there. With all the movement there, I'd go for somehting flexible, even clear silicone. You may need to reapply after a year or so. But since it's above water and not in a threatening location, you would be OK.
