Motor will not shut off with the key

I have a 1983 Bayliner Capri with a AQ125A the boat runs great but motor will not shut off with the key I have read the post's about this but for some reason mine seams to be different I unplugged the wire's on the back of the alternator but it stays running I unplugged the ignition switch while running and it won't shut off any help would be greatly appreciated

Ckeck for voltage at the purple wire on back of key switch. Disconnect the purple wire and check for voltage at terminal. If you still have voltafe, you have a bad key switch

Never disconnect an alternator on a running motor
