motor will not shut off

I have a 40 hp mercury that will not shut off. I have went threw the wiring with a meter and it all seems fine. I checked the 3 coils resistance and they meet specs. I have also replaced the ignition and ecu. Can anyone help?

Why not trace the wiring diagram out and see where the "kill" wire is. Its a simple grounding of the secondary ignition that you want to happin. You really need to have a diagram .

I do have a wiring diagram /mercury repair manual and I ran threw all the wires from the component back to the ecu, and then back to the ignition. All wires have connectivity. Thats what does not make sence.

mine had the same problem before I bought it. The guy rigged up a simple single pole switch that grounded it out.
