Well,What a day I had. Took 4 hrs to hook up a hitch on my vehicle which it only would have taken maybe a hour. Then I put the boat in the water and start heading out and then realize I forgot to plug the boat. Then when I get home,I push the button to lower the motor cause thats the only way it will fit in the garage and the motor wont go down. Any clue on how I can get the motor to drop down? When I push the button,I hear the hydrolic motor, but the motor wont drop. Any clue on what could be wrong?

What kind size and year of motor? Will it go down if you push on it? Often the tilt pin needs lubrication or the pin that goes through the cylinder ends.

Had the same thing happen to me last summer. The hydraulic oil resevoir for the power tilt/trim was low. However just to get me by I was able to pivot it slightly and it used the oil that was in it to lower motor. I was told to use power steering fluid it it and it worked fine.

This happened to me and it was a seal that had worn out inside the lowering motor unit, caused a short in the motor, had to be replaced, on my Yamaha, now works great.
