Motor Won't Trim Up Under Power

I have a 1996 115 HP Johnson J115SLEDR that won't trim up under power. It will trim fine for about the first five minutes of driving, then it doesn't work anymore. It will trim down though. It trims and tilts fine when in neutral. Weirdly enough it will trim up under power when using the switch on the motor itself though. I am leaning toward a wiring issue on the throttle, but I am not sure. Anybody have this happen to them before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a different switch on the throttle handle. Or you may want to swap trim/tilt relays.

So, it will trim up under load with the cowl switch? Dangerous to try but that's what I am getting from your statement. If so, the issue will be in the switch in the handle or the wiring between there and boat. Follow the red blue and green wires.

Thank you for the replies guys, that's what I was leaning towards. And yes, I know its dangerous but I figured it would be good for diagnosis to check the cowl switch.

Problem Solved. The switch had been rewired before, which was causing wear. I believe that when the throttle handle was forward, it was pinching the "up" wire. I rewired the handle in a way that would minimize wear, and so far the problem has been fixed. Any questions feel free to ask.
