I have a older motorguide pro series 75# 24v trolling motor. My plug and receptacle need replaced so while, I'm getting ready for that, I thought I would go ahead and check all the wiring out and make sure everything is how it's suppose to be.

After looking over everything and doing a bunch of research, I'm flat out confused, :)

I have two batteries with 4 wires going to the switch with three going to the receptacle. My trolling motor only has two wires (red/black) with the plug having three. The previous owner had cut the third wire from the plug (orange) and taped it. My new plug/rec both have two wires, so I'm not quite sure what needs done there.

The orange wire on there now isn't being used for anything so I'm assuming I would just hook it up into the same terminals but just take the orange wire out that goes from switch to receptacle.

Check out my drawing and pictures, and let me know if everything looks right. Thanks!

My drawing might be a little hard to see.

4 wires from the batteries go to the switch. I have 6 terminals on the switch. Top two terminals have one single red wire that connect to each other (must not being used). Next terminal down and the left has a black wire going to one of batteries. Terminal to the right of it has a red wire going to one of batteries and a red going to receptacle. Bottom terminals and to the left has a black going to one of the batteries and a black going to the receptacle. The terminal to the right has a orange going to one of the batteries and one going to receptacle.
