I just bought a bass tracker and the guy threw in the above items. Can anyone tell me what this really does. I've looked at forums but I can't seem to found a straight answer.

Your boat has two batteries - - one for the engine and one for the trolling motor. The engine probably charges only the starting battery so a separate plug-in type battery charger was given to you. The 3/5 means the charger has two outouts. One is rated at 3 amps and the other at 5 amps. Connect the 3 amp to the start battery and the 5 amp to the trollung motor battery.

I found a manual on the net for the dual bank charger. I was going to hook it up. But notice the guy I bought the boat from has the cranking wires and trolling motor wires hooked to one battery. And the rest of the wires hook to the much bigger battery. Is this ok!

No. Troller should be on it's own deep cycle battery - - never on the starting battery.
