Hi Fido. Welcome to the forum. :)

I have no experience with the product you are asking about. Took a quick look at Motogruide’s website and found:

[Products] -> [Motogruide Trolling Motors]-> [Catalog and Manuals]

Maybe the info is in there? A cursory look didn’t find anything about ‘lasers’.

Re: motorguide laser

The Lazer is an RF controlled motor much like the MinnKota Co-pilot. The foot pedal is essentially a radio transmitter. When you step on one of the buttons, a signal is sent to the head of the trolling motor where it is interpreted and the appropriate function is activated. Left, Right, Stop/speed, Hi bypass and constant on are all controlled by the pedal. Since the pedal is a transmitter, it requires a battery. I believe it takes a nine volt battery. Most of these were 24 Volt units so you need two deep cycle batteries.

Re: motorguide laser

Sounds like it needs to be seen by a trolling motor doctor.
