Does anyone know the individual wire applications for a MotorGuide Laser370 trolling motor? I need to know what each wire does.
I have a red, a blue, a green and a black wire coming out of the motor. The blue wire is a lighter gauge wire, the black and red appear to be full speed.
What do the other two wired do?

Re: Motorguide Laser370 wiring info?

Mike's has the assembly info for these but no wiring diagram which tells me what each wire does. The diagram there only tells me where to plug each wire in on the circuit board.

The motor I have is new, it was apparently ordered as a replacement. I don't have the upper parts for this particular motor but the wiring is the same on several motors they make. If I can figure out which wire does what, I can attach this to a transom mount control head and switch. It's a pretty powerfull trolling motor and should make a great trolling motor once I piece them all together.

I can see that the Red and Black are direct power wires but I'm not sure what the other two are for. The green wire is as heavy as the red and black and the blue wire is a bit lighter. I don't want to just go by trial and error, most of the Motor Guide motors use several sets of windings for the various speeds vs. a resistor pack and switch.
