I am working on a 1991 Playcraft 20' pontoon that I bought earlier this year. I have replaced the decking and put new carpeting in it and now turning to the means of propulsion. It has an older mid 1990's Motorcraft model 740 bow mount trolling motor on it with a foot controller, that I know nothing about and cannot find much if any info on it. It also has a 1990 Mercury Classic 40HP outboard that I will need to see if it runs. This thing has sat for about 15 years but the motor doesn't seem to be locked up. This is much more motor than I need on my 4 acre pit but would like to keep it viable on this pontoon as that is what it came with from the factory. Any ideas of how to find info on the Vintage trolling more and where should I start with the outboard. I do have them booth off the boat and on stands.
