MotorGuide or MinnKota

I have to replace a bow mounted trolling motor on my 16 ft Crestliner (25 hp). What trolling brand do you recommend? I will have to purchase one to operate on 12 volts.

either or. Both of those are good. The determining factor should be which one has the features you want.

I have and prefer Minn Kota, but I agree with Bassboy.

Whichever has the features you want. Both are excellent brands.

Either one with maximizer (MinnKota terminolgoy) circuitry. Run time is greatly enhanced.

i highly recommend the motor guide w45 or w55, which ever you need, the wireless controls are great. i use only the key fob. i hate foot controls.

From my personal experience, Minn Kota's customer service beats Motor Guide's hands down.

Do a search on here and I think you'll find many agree with that.

IMO, If you go with a digital steer go with motor guide unless you want to spend big bucks on a minn kota ternova, if you go with cable steer i'd go with Minn kota.

I would go with the Minn Kota because of their composite shaft. I have a Motor Guide with a bent shaft.
