Motorguide shaft end play

I bought a used 2005 Motorguide 24v Pro Series 70 trolling motor
Runs fine, looks to be hardly used.
However the prop shaft has about 1/4 inch endplay if you pull / push.
Never seen this much in the smaller MG's I have owned.
Is this normal ?
