Hello,

I have a Motorguide w55 and I would like to know if anyone has an idea as to what frequency the RF foot pedal transmits. I called MotorGuide's customer support hotline, at first they denied having the info but when pressed about FCC approval for their product they flat refused to give me the frequency.

Their product brochure states that its "High-Frequency" and wikipedia list that as between 3 and 30 MHz.

Thanks,
KC

I guess they think that information is some how proprietary. :noidea:

So if you have an O'scope, you could figure out the frequency. Maybe go to a locate tech school and ask them to capture the output with either an Oscilloscope or a Spectrum Analyzer and they probably would love to do that. All you would need is the foot section. You wouldn't need the actual motor section. But there is probably more to it then just a carry frequency. I am betting it is digitally encoded for the different motor functions as well. But you will see that pulse train if it is.

Curious, why do you need to know that frequency? :noidea:

Good idea, I will check with my local community college, I think they have a EE lab. if not, I may have to get a software spectrum analyzer and find it myself.

I want to know the frequency so that I can develop and app for my android phone to control the motor using a raspberry pi. The key FOB is like 60 bucks.
