Does anybody have any kid's that race BMX? My 7yr old loves to ride his bike and one day he brought home a flyer about BMX so we signed him up. He has only been to two races so far but he seem's to love it. Bought him an old used redline today so he is out practicing on his "Race Bike".<br /><br />Just wondering if there were any other folks here in the same shoe's...

20 years ago I was. Raced for about a year and then moved on to freestyle. Lots of scars and only half the man I used to be because of it. I'd do it all over again if I could. It gets expensive quick. Do you know how to true a wheel, adjusting spokes? Learn cuz your gonna need it. He's at the perfect age to start, good luck to him.

It ain't that hard after you figure it out. Tighten one, loosen another till the wheel rolls straight. At 7 he probably won't bend too many, but it will happen some.
