I'd like to mount my old transom mount trolling motor I used for my canoe on the bow of my 18ft Searay bowrider. Looks like I need a bracket extension bolted to the boat that folds back into the boat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BobbyP :p

try telling me the brand :D !!! you will also have to reverse the motor, this is done by unscrewng the lower unit and spinning it around, some times it is done on top!

It's a Motorguide and the transom bracket looks like the one on the new model HVT3600. I've already turned the handle.
Thanks :D

What you are looking for is an outboard motor bracket. There are several manufacturers, Garelick being one of the biggest. Go to West Marine's website and look under this manufacturer. One word of advice, always buy a bigger bracket than is recommended. They never work as well as they are advertised. And if you have one of the new 4 Stroke kicker motors, go with about three sizes larger than recommended. I have a Grarelick 9010 that is rated for a 30 horse motor. It would not handle my Merc 9.9 4 stroke, so it is sitting in my garage (the bracket, not the motor).
