I have 2 Lowrance depth finders. The main one is mounted on the back of the boat. The second one I would like to mount up front but instead of putting it on the trolling motor, what would happen if I put it on the back but opposite side of the motor.

Re: Mounting 2 transducers

You might get interference between the 2 units if they are running at the same frequency.

I have 2 units, both mounted on the transom, starboard side, as I have a kicker motor on the port side.
When there is someone up front using that unit, sometimes I need to turn off the helm unit.
That's fine most of the time, as I am busy driving the boat, and I have the chart plotter to keep my on course/at proper depth.

The front sonar unit is really a nice convenience for ME. It keeps people from constantly asking "how deep it is", "are there weeds here?" and "are there any fish down there?".
