Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to mount a ski pylon to a rear seat base. I was thinking if i could, i would just buy an extra post and cut it down and rig something up with a ski pylon and just insert it into the base. Have no idea if it would work or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Btw my boat is a 2013 Crestliner superhawk 1650.

Sure, they make them. They usually require a couple of support poles/braces that are mounted to the sides. You are able to ski/wakeboard with them, but they are unsafe to use for tubing due to the possibility of the tube digging in and turning the pylon into a projectile.

He is talking about using a pedestal seat base to mount something like a ski boat pylon (no supports)

Doubt it would work without some substantial floor reinforcement and a socket that was meant for a pylon and not a seat.

Looks like it's an option for that boat, hard to tell what it's mounted to in these pictures but I'm assuming it's not one of the seat mounts.

You're right - looks like a factory option

Since it is a NEW boat.....contact the dealer before you void any warranty.

Yeah, there's no way you avoid ripping that thing out of the floor on a hard pull from a slalom skier unless there was some reinforcement from underneath.
