TIA for any help you can offer.

Long time boater, running into a new problem mounting a 48 SPL Johnson on a 1993 Spectrum flatbottom. They appear to have been made to specifically handle Force, as thats what was on it.

My problem lies in the transom, which has a raised mounting bracket for the top level of bolts of the outboard. It was wide enough for the Force, but its not wide enough for the Johnson. Without going to the expense and PITA work of installing a fancy hydraulic bracket, is there any simple answer to this situation?

Do they make mounting plates that bolt to these brackets on these boats that will give a wider face area to bolt to? The Force was 11" and this OMC is 13"

If they dont make plates, do they offer easily attached brackets (ie: remove the other one, bolt the new one in) that are wider?

I dont subscribe to any of the fishing retailers catalogs so there may well be something like this in Bass Pro or similar.

Thanks to anyone that helps me with this...

I just made my own mounting board.
I like them wider anyway plus I put two brackets side by side and
tied them together with a new mounting board.

Bracket you have may be made for very small outboard.
