mounting elecrical trim

Anyone know if it is possible to mount electrical trimming on my 1991 merc classic fifty? and if so where can I find it

I'm suprised it doesn't have it from new. Haven't seen one without. The bad news is that the trim system they did put in those originally is no longer available. Not that that's a bad thing. They had a high failure rate. There should be a replacement available but they're awfully expensive. Keep an eye out for a used motor, or call around. Maybe there's a dealer with a parts motor in a back shed.

You could get an aftermarket trim outfit from CMC for about the same cost (I think they have them here, but Overtons.com has them as well), plus it gives you setback, which is a performance gain. I want to get one for my 69 Merc 1250, but cheapness/laziness keeps getting in the way.
