mounting engine to transom

can i just use the 2 screw clamps to attach my motor?

or am i supposed to drill thru the transom and mount bolts in the 2 lower holes of the motor's bracket? must I do it?

You can use just the screw clamps. Just make sure they are tight and check them often.

50 needs to be bolted also. if it were a 25 ok.

Heck, I even bolted my 6hp Johnson to my boat with the two bottom holes. More to keep it from being stolen than anything else, but those clamps do have a way of vibrating loose.

Stainless bolts and nylon insert self-locking stainless nuts, with washers on the inside of the transom. It's worth it.
