on my 1961 feathercraft cisco ll there are a few holes in the top of the bow with nothing in the and i have been wanting to get them installed with something but does any one know what was in there before. i do know that in the very tip of bow the was a handle but just barely to both sides of the handle there is three holes for something else on each side with all of the holes in a row then in middle of the bow there is two holes with a good 3-4 inch gap between them does anyone know what might of been there. Here is a rough drawing for right know and i will try to get a real picture soon. The blue is where the handle goes. then red is the three on the sides of it and green is the two in back. hope it helps any until i get a real picture.

Not familiar with that boat but from the pics it looks like an aluminum hull. Can you get to the underside of the holes? If it's aluminum you can secure an aluminum backing plate and than weld the holes shut and grind/sand smooth. If it's fibreglass, same thing just fill with kittyhair and resin. You could also try a backingplate and fill the holes with bondo or marine epoxy but that could be prone to cracking. As to what was there, might have been an anchor mount.

I do know that the center holes that form a triangle is a bow handle but as for the two sets that run along side it i think they were either lights or chocks. and the two holes in the other pic. i still have no idea except for maybe a horn and a solid cleat.

Trolling motor mount...... would not be unheard of if they mounted a small gas motor to troll with

Re: Mounting hole's in bow????

i could see a trolling motor working with how the two holes in the one pic. sit about a foot behind the bow handle holes and the other unkown holes but it would of had to be a electric motor for my boats only 14ft long far to small to need another gas motor but anyway i guess it could of been one of those electric trolling mounts that are put on bass boats that just drop right in and out. and it would explain why the bow handle was removed.

the center holes are a handle.

the two on the side are for rope giudes.....

what kind of rope guides would they have been because i cant find any chocks small with small enough mounting holes for the ones already drilled and ready to go.
