Yesterday I mounted my 1961 45hp Merc to the transom on the 14ft Glen L boat that I am building. After cutting the transom down to allow the cavation plate to be even with the bottom everything looked great. Then I looked at it from the side and noticed that in the down position the motor did not tilt back at the same angle as the transom. Upon further inspection I found that the motor would not tilt forward towards the transom because something wont allow the tilt pin to line up with the first hole in the stern brackets.
