I have just a purchased a "new" (2002 but still in metal crate) Johnson 70hp 4stroke. I would like to mount the motor myself but didn't receive any directions on how to mount it. Other than the weight of the motor it seems it shouldn't be much of a problem. (Or is it?) I would appreciate any follow ups that would include mounting information/tips.

Howdy, Rmyer.

What boat are you going to put it on?

What engine was on there before?

Do you have all of the controls and instruments?

I think I still have the instructions that came with my 2001 Suzuki DF70, which is very close to the same engine.

Let us know. :)

The boat is an older Sea Nymph SS171 bow rider. I will be purchasing controls, cables etc.... The previous motor was a Force 50 hp and has aready been removed.

Sorry, RMyer.

The instructios I have are for the controls, not the engine.

If you don't get an instruction booklet with your controls, etc. post again and we can fix you up.

Good luck. :)
