I have a 1991 Ranger 354v. Would there be any problem mounting a 15LB on board battery charger to the rear deck lid or to the fiberglass plate (which is removable) that the starting battery sits on (the plate is in between the two fuel cells about 10 inches above the bilge). Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

battery charger....are we talking inside the motor compartment?.....if it can make a spark....its not a good idea...if you can isolate the battery and the charger from the motor/fuel cells....go for it

I would also add to make sure you can open the compartment the batteries and charger are in when your charging them,...

Yes I currently do that. The engine is outboard so the fuel cell would be the issue then (to isolate) The best place then would be the storage behind the passenger seat and drill a hole to the battery compartment to run the wires (I suppose this would be the safest) just hate having to drill holes.
