Mounting two identical fish finders Question.

I got a Pirana 1 at the front of the boat, I'm thinking about mounting another one at the back, since I'm so happy with it's performance so far.
My question is, will I have any interference between the two. Surely they have this in mind when they designed the thing. But identical finders, is that an issue?

Re: Mounting two identical fish finders Question.

Humminbird makes a adapter that hooks one transducer to 2 units or one unit to 2 transducers. I am not sure if it will work on the piranha though. I think you will have some problems running two transducers at the same time. :(

Check out: http://www.humminbird.com/retail/ca...inbird&category_name=Fishfinder+Switch&Page=1

http://www.humminbird.com/retail/ca...inbird&category_name=Transducer+Switch&Page=1

Humminbird Product Support:
http://www.humminbird.com/hb_productsupport.asp?ID=7

Re: Mounting two identical fish finders Question.

Thanks bKelly,

I called Hummingbird already and they flat out told me if the two cone signals from the transducers overlap you will have interference. This will probably happen more so in deeper water since the cone gets larger the deeper the water is.

Right now I have my front transducer mounted on the trolling motor so while running the outboard I'll have it out of the water anyway, I really need the second finder in the back while motoring. I can always turn the back one off while fishing if I do have problems....
