Moving my batteries forward

So I looked at how my Islander lays in the water when docked. The bow is fairly high up while the stern sits quite deep. This is because I have a 4.3 liter engine an outdrive, an extra long shaft Suzuki and 2 big fat batteries all on or near the stern. It raises the bow high enough to make the boat get blown sideways with the slightest wind while trolling. It also makes my auto pilot work overtime because it has to correct direction all the time
I plan to move the batteries forward into the cuddy which I only use for storing fishing gear. It is easily done with a new Perko and 1AWG cables. So far so good.
Now lead acid batteries can release dangerous gasses which can cause explosions when kept in an enclosed space.
So my question is, what batteries can I use safely in an enclosed space. Or can I keep on using lead acid batteries if I put a vent ,conceivably with a blower in the cuddy roof ?
Thank you.

I seem to recall sealed battery boxes that had their own vent line you ran. That'd probably work fine.

Some battery chemistries give off very little gas if any. Switching to one of them would solve that issue.
