Multiple batteries?

I am rigging the electrical system on my boat. I have a great white trolling motor, 24v. Should I run 2 batteries dedicated to my troller? And a third just for starting my big motor? Or just tap off one of the trolling motor batteries? I'm trying to conserve weight, but if need be, I'll run three batteries. I also have a 24v light system on the front of my boat. For giggin and bowfishin. Can I run that off of my trolling motor batteries? The lights are fairly low draw. 4 of them at 18 watts each, LED's. Thanks for any ideas.

Yes, you should have 3 batteries. Otherwise, if you run the trolling motor a little too long, you won't be able to start the gas motor.

Run your 24V lights off the trolling motor batteries.

I went with 4 two to run accessories, one to start boat and one un used just in case. But you said your limited on weight, i was going to buy a good jump pack for the boat but decided to keep an extra battery instead.

Just limited on weight, because i am trying to same my draft. It is a bowfishing boat, I get into some really shallow water at times.

Re: Multiple batteries?

I have a combo deep cycle/starting battery, i am going to run the engine start/run, fish finder, interior led lighting, navi led, and anchor led off of. I am getting 2 more to run, my led bowfishing lites, flood landing light, and my troller off of. All of those are 24v. I don't use my troller, when i am bowfishing any way. That should be ok. any body have any experience with led's? Interference, with other electronics? like depth finders. should i install some sort of filter inline on my fish finder? Thanks.
