Hi im planning on going out fishing on sat and i was testing out my motor so that i know it works before i head out on sat, i started the engine the first time and it started great, i tested neutral revving, forward and reverse, all worked. Then 30 minutes later i tried it again but it wouldnt idle without me revving the motor. I put it in forward and revved it and when i stopped the motor turned off. Any ideas? Does it need to warm up before it gets going because of its age? its about 60 degrees today.

Will it keep running if you keep pumping the primer bulb, maybe you have a fuel pump problem.

I took the boat out today and tried out that pumping of the bulb and gave it good ventilation but still nothing...do i need to rebuild the carbs? im going to do it anyway because i already bought the kit from here, but could the carbs be causing it not to idle at low rpms?

Sure can! Your idle circuits probably have a bit of gunk/junk in them.

Ok ill rebuild them and post back what happens, I really new to boating and was just wondering if rebuilding the carbs was a easy, intermediate or hard job to do.i also bought a new impeller and gearcase seal kit are those extremely hard jobs to perform either

f.y.i. - I have both the parts and service manuals
