Hello Johnson experts!
I am stocking up all my maintenance items and just got my manual to match the above engine. There a few things it calls for that I can not find, so I am hoping some of you could point me in the right direction on each of the below.

Manual says to use:
OMC HI-VIS Gear Case lube- capacity 29.1ozs for the Lower Unit.
Anderol 766 to lube starter pinion..
OMC Anti-Corrosion lube for various such as cover latches, tilt tube shaft, swivel bracket fitting, etc.
Johnson Outboard 50:1 lubricant which is BIA certified for service TC-W (water cooled) for the fuel.
OMC Power Tilt/Trim fluid capacity 12.5oz

What I have:
I have some all purpose trim and tilt fluid with various brands on the front, including Johnson for the Tilt N' Trim.
I have some Rotella Grease Heavy Duty Lithium Complex 2 for all the various greasing applications including the trailer bearings.
I have some Quicksilver Marine high performance 90W gear lube for the lower unit.

I am not sure what to use for the starter pinion?

Finally, when comparing what my motor manual says vs. what is available today, am I using the right stuff I noted? If not, what should I be using, and what should I use for the starter pinion? What ios the best type of oil to mix with the gas?

Thanks to my priceless seafarers!
:)

The HIVis is still around, but I'd probably opt for the higher grade of gear oil in that engine, the Bombardier XPFR oil. The starter lube is a very special lube. Not ordinarily found in most places. OMC sells this lube under part number 337016 aka; General Electric Versalube. Any TCW-III type oil should work in the gas tank. Bombardier makes an XD50 oil which has a carbon reducing agent added to the oil-a nice feature.

Thank you- valuable info for me.
Do you think the grease I noted is a type I can use for all the greaseables? ...or should I buy some other type of grease? How important is that?

The bendix lube is usually for starters only. It is a very thin lube. As such, it's not appropriate for most other lube points on an outboard.

No, I mean the grease I listed that I already have. "Rotella Grease Heavy Duty Lithium Complex 2 for all the various greasing applications including the trailer bearings."
Would that be a good grease for all of the other fittings, trailer bearings, etc??
thanks emd!

I'm not familiar with the Rotella product. Check the label on the side of the package. Wheel bearing grease is usually an EP moly. The package should say for "extreme pressure and high temp applications." Trailer bearing grease is different from car grease in that it is waterproof. Car greases will mix with water and get runny. We use a lot of the Bombardier EP wheel bearing grease-available in squeeze tubes, cans, or two sizes of tubes for grease guns. It's red in color. OMC also makes a low temp waterproof (blue) grease for the tilt tube, cowling latches and the swivel bracket grease zurks.

Mine is heavy duty grease, and is red in color but I believe it's the lithium which makes it red..
I'll check out the package! Thanks emd.. tight lines.
