I want to start this out by saying I appreciate all the support the people of this site have given us over the last few months in our many " new to boating " experiences.

Last night my beautiful wife suffered a major heart attack and had to have emergency surgery to have a stint placed in the main artery of her heart as it was 99% blocked. There appears to have been some damage to the back of the left ventrical, but the doctors feel the heart should recover. She is in the ICU at the VA medical center here in Johnson City Tennessee. The doctors say that the next 24-48 hours are the most dangerous for any potential problems to arise. She will have a long road to recovery it looks like, even though she is already wanting to get back home.

Your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated by our family. I don't know what I would do without her. Hug your loved ones tonight because tomorrow may be too late. She had no real warning other than some chest pains yesterday at work. She is only 42 so don't think it can't happen to you.

She's always accusing me of spending too much time looking at this here " boat porn " site, but I know the people here and the power of prayer.

Thanks for all you do...

Dave...

Your wife is in great hands and has our prayers. I myself have been down that road (6 1/2 years ago) and the VA in Boston did my stints. I have nothing but great things to say!

Heart wise I made a full recovery. She will feel great in under a week ;) Cardiac rehab is probably in her future too.

You got it Dave, The VA will take great care of her, My father has had 5 heart attacks and finally had a valve replaced and the VA did it all for him, they are good people.

Hang in there, she will be home before you know and griping about every single thing YOU eat, so just get used to it, small price to pay.

No Worries buddy, we have got your 6.

It's really not the worst hing in the world, my Admiral went through the same thing last year. I don't eat much fast food nor do I eat super healthy, but in a year she's dropped my cholesterol 50 point with her new diet.

Thoughts and prayers to both you and the admiral. I know you're not thinking she's real lucky right now but if there was going to be a heart attack the back of the heart is where you want it. It is much more fibrous and can much better tolerate damage. At her age, an attack in the front of the heart could well have been fatal. We will all be thinking positive thoughts for both of you. Keep us posted on her progress.

Re: My Admiral Needs Your Prayers!!

Thoughts and prayers are with your Admiral and your family. I am about 1.5 years out from an emergency double-bypass. Following cardiac rehab, and now in an even better exercise and diet routine, I feel better then ever. These things are difficult for a little while, but can add amazing elements and perspective to your life.
