Here is what I came up with for forward mounting my trolling motor on my boat. I just want to make sure that I won't damage the boat this way. The motor completely clears the boat no worries of the prop hitting it. I made sure the wood is not treated because I heard that affects the aluminum. Everything is tight and snug and I do not see any bends or creasing etc. my concern is to just make sure i do not damage the boat by clamping it on this way.

I also rotated the head of the motor 180 degrees and it is easily operated from the middle bench, which was the idea.

Sure that will work however if you used a longer piece of wood it would spread the stress out on the hull.

I considered that but a longer one wouldn't touch along the middle because of the curve of the boat. Good to know it will work, it's mostly for emergency and maybe guiding around our croppie spots
