Woke this morning and was getting ready to go to the shop. Asked herself were the cat was. She kinda looked at me funny and started looking around the house. No Digbee. Went outside and walked around the house and still no Digbee. Funny how you can get attached to a creature like that. She's a little Calico Cat with an attitude. She did this once before and the granddaughter found her outside in the flower bed asleep. We think one of the grandkids may have let her out. She normally stays in doors. Granddaughter is out around town now looking. I know it's just a cat....but she sure is a special little cat. :( :( :(

Sorry to hear that, OBJ.

I would be very upset if Catzilla wasn't around. She has a bad attitude, as her name suggests, but she is my cat and part of my life.

Hope Digbee shows up soon, and in good shape.

Sorry for your loss OBJ, but more than likely she will turn up soon. They usually do. My daughter would be upset if Cheetoh got lost,(that is really code for me)so I kinda know how you feel.

Re: My Cat Is Missing

Don't give up hope. My grandparents lived on a lake in the Adirondaks and couldn't survive the winter there so they moved to town every year. Just before they moved their cat came up missing, that was in early October. The lake is surrounded by miles and miles of deep woods. They gave up hope and mourned their loss for months. In April when they went back to the lakehouse the cat was sleeping on the door stoop, alive and well and no worse for worry.
:)

Lets give it a couple more days than we can mount a search, Lets see 25,000 members 50 states = 500 members per state. We would actually stand a chance. Hope the kitty comes home soon!

Sorry to hear that OBJ. I hope for the best. I know the hollow pit you get in your stomache when this happens.

Last time it happened to us, it was -10 F. I put food and a rubbermaid container out with my down jacket outside. I was up all night checking and calling. I finally heard a noise at 3:00AM and saw the cat under the neighbors porch at the same time he saw me and came running.

Good luck.

Aint no fun whene your cat can't be found. Got 2... one 13yrs old and the other 10. Very rarely one might be gone for even the day but always shows up looking worse for the wear and hungry! Hope your find her OBJ

Re: My Cat Is Missing

Cats are such independant little critters. I had a cat go missing last June, so it's been a year. I went thru sleepless nights. Still, no sign of bootz. This cat is the one that went fishing with me on a dare. She slept at my feet every night, was to a great extent, an inside cat, but got to go wherever she wanted. In her absence, I've done some reading online about this subject, and have learned that cats ARE that independant. They do not build the same bonds that we humans do. They are predators that make only the primal link between humans and food/care/shelter. This is why they stay at a home, as opposed to running-off in the first place. It's just easier for them to let us take care of them. Sometimes, thier natural instincts to hunt, remove us (the care giver) from thier memory. I've had previous cats that would disaapear for as long as 3 months, only to show up at my doorstep with a load of fleas, but otherwise, non the worse for wear. They do just fine in the urban jungle (or any other jungle for that matter) on thier own.
But I know exactly how bad it hurts to know they are out in that weather, hunkering under a car. It bugs us...But to the cat, hey this is just a campin trip.
I hope your little buddy returns in good health.

Re: My Cat Is Missing

Hi OBJ, There's hope for a long time like 12'er says. I had an indoor cat get away and I didn't see him for 5 weeks. He had no claws (I didn't do that to him) and was a big baby. I thought he was dead. He woke me up one night at three in the morning begging to come in. He was kind of skinny and dirty and happy as he could be to be home. Next day after a bath, de-lousing and three servings of cat chow he was back to his normal routine around the house (napping here, napping there, licking his butt in a shaft of sunshine). Just keep your eye out, let any old ladies in the neighborhood or anyone who's generally home all day know Digbee's out there. You know how people pick up strays or feed them at thier back doors. I hope she's OK!
